Eco Web Hosting’s 2021 In Review

2021 was a great year for Eco Web Hosting, and we wanted to share our accomplishments with you.

We currently have nearly 37,000 websites on our servers

We’re always excited to see how our customers use our servers, and with nearly 37,000 websites, there’s always something new and exciting to see. Whether you’re running an online store, a blog, or just showing off your neat collection of trains, we’re delighted to have you here.

We planted over 54,000 trees and supported 22 Gold Standard projects

Thanks to Tree-Nation, Ecologi, and the Eden Reforestation Project, we were able to really bump up our tree planting this year. Along with our regular planting in Haiti, Indonesia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nepal, and the UK, we also planted trees in Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Colombia, France, India, Kenya, Nicaragua, Peru, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand, and the United States.

We also supported Gold Standard projects in Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Through these projects, we protected valuable peatland, helped turn leftover rice husks into energy, purchased more efficient cookstoves, and funded solar and wind farms.

You can find out the full details in our monthly sustainability reports or see the latest details on our Green Credentials page.

We were declared a Top Tier WordPress Hosting company

We submitted our Basic Managed WordPress package to Review Signal, and we were incredibly pleased to learn we are a Top Tier Hosting Company. Our uptime was 99.99% and our response times were the third-fastest in all those reviewed. This was a great accomplishment for our Managed WordPress hosting, and we’re proud of how well we did.

We were shortlisted for the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2021

We entered the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards this year and were absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for Small Business of the Year and Young Sustainability Executive of the Year. While we didn’t win either category, unfortunately, we were still delighted to be shortlisted, and have high hopes for next year.

Our development team made over 1000 code commits

Our development team works iteratively — regularly making small changes to produce regular continual improvements. And through these code commits, we’ve worked hard to improve our systems, making everything smoother and easier for you to use.

We joined Instagram

We love posting on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, but when we found out that a lot of our customers are on Instagram, we knew we had to join in on the fun. Our Instagram account is small, but we’ve been having a great time coming up with new and interesting images for our followers.

Our support team answered nearly 8,000 tickets and over 1,600 live chats

The sheer amount of hard work our Support Team puts in is incredible. It’s one of the best things we have in the company, and we work hard to make sure you’re happy with our service every day of the week. If you want to say thanks, why not leave a Trustpilot review?

We said goodbye to Chris, but are doing great things with Leon

The biggest thing that happened for us was Chris leaving us for brighter and bigger things. We still miss him every day, but we were all excited when Leon was announced as the CEO, and we have major plans in place for next year that will wow you.

How about you?

We had an exciting 2021 with plenty of great things happening, but what about you? Let us know on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram!
